To quote Johnny Boyle, BIMM tutor and Masterclass host, “Péter Szendöfi brought a wealth of knowledge to his Masterclass at BIMM Dublin.”
Péter Szendöfi is one of Hungary’s most famous musicians and arguably one of the world’s finest drummers. His international work involves performing, recording and teaching music students, including our class at BIMM Dublin in February. Over an intensive two-hour session, Péter played live drums, interspersed with talks on technique, plus questions from the class.
High on the list of Péter’s teaching topics was improvisation, a coveted skill for drummers. He also discussed techniques for solo drumming and various drum patterns and technical expertise, but also had a crucial reminder for the class:
Johnny Boyle admired Péter’s direct method of teaching:
Ken Mooney, BA4 Drums, took a lot from the session, and best of all came away excited to practice:
Shay Cosgrave (BA4 Drums) felt similarly inspired:
Technique and inspiration from a top professional – just another Masterclass from BIMM!
