Summer is officially here! But we’ll still be here with Track of the Week – this week with BIMM Dublin’s Natures…

What was the inspiration behind your track?
I never really like telling people who my songs are about, but this is an account of a sad part of my life and me trying to be honest and admit some failings of mine.
What did your songwriting process involve?
I tend to write the music first and then words. This song literally all spilled out in one night. I wrote this in a bed that wasn’t mine too!
What things do you do differently to other bands?
All four of us in Natures are in Natures for the hell of it; we just love having fun playing tunes and I’ll be happy wherever we are as long as we’re doing what we love.
Can you describe your sound in three words?
Honest, heartfelt, happy-sad.
Have you channeled any artist in particular on this track?
I was definitely going for a Modern Baseball/flatsound vibe with this song.
What’s the best thing about studying at BIMM?
My favourite thing about BIMM is the environment; my friends inspire me with their music constantly & I can only hope I do the same for them!
What’s the best bit of music advice you’ve been given?
Best advice I got was from an Anime called “Your Lie In April”. It taught me to give music everything I have and made me ask; can I reach someone through my playing, and can they understand me? I 100% recommend it.
What’s next for you?
Since Natures has now become a full band we’ll be hopefully gigging more and working on the debut album.
