Studying at BIMM

International student Information

Here at BIMM, we’ve always had our finger on the pulse identifying key regions in the global contemporary music industry.

That’s why we’ve chosen to open BIMM colleges in the coolest, freshest and most creative cities around – London, Berlin, Dublin, Manchester, Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham and Hamburg – and we’ll connect you to the best of the music business in all of them.

EU & EEA

If you come from one of the countries in the European Economic Area (EEA) or European Union (EU) you should only need a valid passport to enter the UK, Ireland or Germany and commence your studies at BIMM.

The countries of the EU are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

The EEA includes EU countries and also Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. It allows them to be part of the EU’s single market. Switzerland is neither an EU nor EEA member but is part of the single market – this means Swiss nationals have the same rights to live and work in the UK as other EEA nationals.

VISAS

Our Admissions Team can offer advice about studying in the UK, Ireland and Germany in order to make your transition as smooth as possible. If you are a non-eu applicant you will more than likely require a study visa to enter BIMM. The visa application process can take up to 8 weeks so please ensure you allow enough time to apply for a visa in advance of your departure from your home country. Please contact the relevant BIMM centre for more information.

Immigration Health Surcharge (UK visa applicants only)

The health surcharge is payable by non-EEA nationals who apply to come to the UK to study for a time-limited period of more than 6 months. It will also be paid by non-EEA nationals who are already in the UK and apply to extend their stay. Applicants must ensure they have completed their immigration application and paid the surcharge. For further information please see the Factsheet and Q&A documents provided by the Home Office.
