Pablo is an audio-visual artist specialising in immersive multi-sensory installations, visual music, live art and cultural hybridity.
Under the name Panther Panther! he performs live animations and Latin-American-influenced electronica, blurring the line between the visual arts and dance club culture. He’s released an album on Le Ronca Records, was commissioned by Blackpool’s LeftCoast arts programme for his project ‘Transported Futures’, has toured South American clubs, and received praise for ‘Acapulco Space Shuttle’ – a psychedelic installation using abstract animations and surround sound design. Through his AV art, he’s committed to exploring social issues arising from overlapping cultural identities and immigration – including his project ‘Northbound’, and the Arts Council England funded piece, ‘Beyond Boundary Road’.
Pablo is the founder and Creative Director of Bristol-based band Poppy Perezz – a pop group exploring the musical fusion between Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Ireland and Cornwall, who’ve released an album with Beach Hut Records and toured the UK festival circuit. He also founded the social enterprise Calavera Social Films, which makes documentaries and promotional videos for local charities and community groups.
Pablo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Visual Art from the University of Brighton, and a Masters Degree in Creative Sound and Media Technology from Bath Spa University. He’s currently a PhD candidate with the Music and Technology Department at Bath Spa University, having been awarded a scholarship for his research into ‘Expanded Cinema, Globalisation and Visual Music’.
