Adam Hart

MODULE LEADER FOR COMPUTER MUSIC DESIGN / IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS

Adam is an electronic musician and programmer who has contributed soundscapes and installations to a variety of international conferences and concerts. With a background in education and interactive technology, he is currently completing research into educational interface design for his Doctoral Thesis, for which he has been awarded funding by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Originally a classically trained musician, Adam played guitar and electronics in several Manchester bands as a student, and now specialises in computer-based composition and performance. He is interested in the use of the laptop as a performance instrument – particularly the ways in which interactive technology can be used to create a more exciting visual element to laptop musicianship.
