BIMM Berlin is part of the BIMM Group – the Europe’s largest and leading contemporary music college.
BIMM Brighton was the first BIMM college to open (2001), followed by colleges in Bristol (2008), London (2010), Dublin (2011), Manchester (2013), Berlin (2015), Birmingham (2017) and Hamburg (2018).
All eight BIMM institutes collaborate in perfect harmony, but at the same time, each individual music college has its own unique, independent regional identity which we continue to nurture.
Operating in a city which is cosmopolitan, hip, experimental, creative, historic and open-minded, our students love being part of the BIMM Berlin vibe. Our close connection to the German and international music scene means they get direct access to the most happening music venues, the coolest record labels, the most groundbreaking festivals, and the most iconic music brands in the world. BIMM Berlin students attend lessons taught in English at Noisy Musicworld in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg creative district of Berlin, and all courses are validated by the prestigious University of Sussex. Via Noisy Musicworld, BIMM Berlin provides state-of-the-art professional facilities, with equipment and software delivered by the world’s leading musical instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us. Our college features top-of-the-range Mac suites with Ableton-sponsored equipment, backline-fitted rehearsal studios, and an independently owned recording studio which can be booked by BIMM Berlin students at a discounted rate. The BIMM Berlin building itself is a music industry hub with equipment hire, a radio station, a world-renowned music magazine, several independent recording studios and an online event ticketing agency, giving our students an instant connection to the local creative and music community and ample opportunities for work experience.
All BIMM Berlin students have the option of an international exchange undertaking the second year of their study at BIMM London, right at the heart of the global music industry. Whether at BIMM Berlin or BIMM London, our tutors are all very active in the global music scene, and between them have toured worldwide with international acts, interviewed some of the biggest artists and bands in the world, written best-selling rock biographies and appeared on TV and radio as music commentators. Put simply, they’re really well connected and eager to pass their knowledge, experience and guidance onto you.
