BIMM Dublin is part of the BIMM Group – Europe’s largest and leading contemporary music college. We offer degrees and diplomas in a number of different disciplines, including guitar, bass, drums, vocals, songwriting, songwriting and music production.
BIMM Brighton was the first BIMM college to open (2001), followed by colleges in Bristol (2008), London (2010), Dublin (2011), Manchester (2013), Berlin (2015), Birmingham (2017) and Hamburg (2018).
The eight BIMM institutes collaborate in perfect harmony, but at the same time, each individual music college has its own unique, independent regional identity which we continue to nurture.
Our students love BIMM Dublin because they get direct access to brilliant venues and facilities like The Workman’s Club and Whelan’s for performing and gigs, and Temple Lane Studios for rehearsing and recording. And who doesn’t love busking in Temple Bar with The Script? Our students certainly did!
The BIMM Dublin campus is spread between two buildings – our main building in Francis Street in Dublin City Centre, and an additional location a short distance away in The Coombe.
The two-storey Francis Street building comprises of six large teaching studios, a live performance room, tutorial suites, a student common room and a resource centre. The three-storey building in The Coombe consists of the ground floor, but over the coming years the remaining two floors will be developed to include a recording studio, teaching spaces, computer rooms and tutorial suites. Our high-tech equipment and software is provided by the world’s leading musical instrument manufacturers who actively support and endorse us, including Yamaha, Fender, Cornford, Marshall, Mapex, Mesa, Boogie, Vox, Ampeg, Peavey, Hiwatt, Orange and Roland.
Our BIMM Dublin tutors are all very active in the local Dublin music scene and beyond, and between them have been nominated for Ivor Novello awards, contributed to movie soundtracks, coached some of the world’s greats in their craft, and toured the world with major bands. Put simply, they’re really well connected and eager to pass their knowledge, experience and guidance onto you.
