Alex impresses Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills

Alex Adams live on BBC Radio 1Xtra

Former BIMM Brighton vocal student, Alex Adams, performed live on BBC Radio 1’s digital urban sister station, BBC Radio 1Xtra, last week. Alex provided vocals for the Toyboy & Robin track ‘Better Places’ on MistaJam’s show – take a look at his soulful performance here.

The track has also been receiving Radio 1 airplay. After watching Alex at work, Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, described his performance as “brilliant”, although he admits he believed Alex was miming at first because of his faultless vocals ¬– what a huge compliment!

Alex graduated from BIMM in 2007 and while studying was part of the highly acclaimed band Floors and Walls, who played at the Isle of Wight Festival, performed live on Channel 4, and were the winners of the Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) World Final at the London Astoria in 2008, netting themselves $100,000 in prize money.

Alex is now performing as a solo artist and will be releasing an EP very soon. For latest news be sure to follow him on Facebook.
