BIMM at Glass Butter Beach Festival

Music festival season is coming, and if there was a prize for the festival with the best backdrop, Glass Butter Beach at Llanbedrog on the Llyn Peninsula would definitely be in the running with its majestic views over Cardigan Bay to the Snowdonian Mountains.

For the last two years Glass Butter Beach have supported BIMM, and the relationship continues into 2015 as six BIMM acts make the trip to sunny Wales to perform at the festival, alongside three more BIMM students who will work backstage on artist liaison and stage management. The BIMM artists will take their place on the bill alongside headliners Professor Green, Less Than Jake, Mallory Knox and Bondax.

Friday sees BIMM acts Akcadamy and BARRON both playing the Main Stage. Akcadamy fuse their hip-hop with guitar riffs and bold lyricism, winning fans from Mike Pickering to Xfm, with no doubt new festival fans to follow soon. After only a year playing together BARRON are gigging like crazy with 11 festival dates confirmed. The Main Stage at Glass Butter Beach should provide a suitably large place for their expansive anthemic sound.

The Surf Shack Stage on Friday night hosts another two BIMM live acts. Romario recently cut his teeth with some high standard live audiences as support act for two true legends, Joyce Simms and Alexander O’Neal. The BIMM Manchester vocalist now takes his talents to Wales for some appreciate new ears. Dom Major is one of the Independent’s ‘Ones to Watch for 2015’. His story-telling songs, plaintive melodies and knack for winning over the crowd are the perfect combination for a festival audience.

Saturday will see Megan Dixon-Hood on the Main Stage with her gentle yet powerful piano ballads. This is a return visit to Glass Butter Beach for Megan who is also a playwright and has just released her second EP of music. Back over at the Surf Shack Stage, The Eyres are also making a return visit to build on their success over the last year, including airplay on BBC Introducing. Last year they played  a stripped down acoustic set, this year they release their full live show bringing an intensity that’s sure to set the festival crowd alight.
