BIMM Dublin is pleased to have teamed up once again with Youth Work Ireland’s Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) for another fantastic education hub at their all ages National Day event on Saturday May 11th, 2019.
The event – which took place at Croke Park on Saturday May 11th – saw a host of talented young musicians perform across two stages throughout the day, including number 1 chart-toppers ‘The Academic‘ and Gold selling number one artists ‘The Riptide Movement’. Plus workshops from BIMM Institute Dublin with members of Villagers, James Vincent McMorrow and Heathers.
BIMM Dublin’s presence at the event included an interactive stand within the bustling marketplace area, which was hosted by Songwriting tutor and mentor Phil Christie and featured performances, songwriting workshops and jam sessions with BIMM Dublin’s graduate house band.
The fun doesn’t stop there though! Also, featured on the day was be a live guitar clinic, scratch DJ workshop and official Ableton stand, all offering valuable tips and advice for those looking to learn skills in these fields.

Also, in attendance during the event was be Girls Rock Dublin, IMRO and RTÉ 2FM who were broadcasting live from the event throughout the day. Plus award-winning Director Lochlainn McKenna teamed up with music producer Daithí to look at the inspiration, process and promotion behind a successful music video shoot.
“We are super excited to announce our education hub line-up for 2019 and to create a space for young people to get hands on advice, skills and knowledge about the creative and music industries by some of Ireland’s best acts.” said Irish Youth Music Awards Director, Barry Lennon.
Director of Music at RTÉ 2FM, Alan Swan said: “The Irish Youth Music Awards programme and National Day is a vital part of RTÉ 2FM’s mission to support young musicians, songwriters and producers by giving them an opportunity to develop their skills and meet industry professionals. We have started to see some acts that have been involved in the IYMAs programme to now be part of RTÉ 2FM’s content.”
The day was a great experience for young people interested in pursuing a career in music, learning new music skills from professionals, or even just looking to catch live performances from some incredible live acts!
