BIMM Hamburg is now assessing and enrolling musicians and Music Business students for entry in October 2019. Our new Hamburg students will study in the unique Hamburg Bunker and be taught and mentored by an exceptional roster of hugely successful music business professionals, all of whom are currently working in the industry and are ready and raring to share their passion, knowledge and expertise.

Frank is founder and vocalist of the Hamburg-based indie pop band Die Sterne and one of the Hamburger Schule’s most prolific members. He’s also BIMM Hamburg’s new Songwriting tutor. He’s an integral part of Germany’s indie music network, founding two record labels – Fast Weltweit and Materie Records, and is an executive board member of the VUT.

Dirk is another impressive musician who has found his way into BIMM Hamburg’s illustrious circle, in the role of Songwriting tutor. Dirk rose to fame with his indie pop band The Jeremy Days. After building up Hamburg’s successful indie label Tapete Records from 2001 onwards, he founded Teaneck Records in 2014, and these days pursues a thriving solo career.

Peta grew up in a musical family singing four-part harmonies and it’s no surprise that her upbringing led to a multi-faceted career as a musician, producer, sound engineer and now a Songwriting, Performance and Music Production tutor. As a musician, she’s has played everything from punk to country and collaborated with a variety of bands including Bela B, one of Germany’s most (in)famous stars. As a studio and live sound engineer and producer, Peta has worked with some of Hamburg’s best bands such as Die Sterne, Blumfeld, Tocotronic and Die Goldenen Zitronen.

As a producer, mixer, engineer and songwriter, Philipp has been involved in exciting productions across every genre, including work by Get Well Soon, Tim Benzko, Kettcar, Elif, Pohlmann and Samy Deluxe. He has produced albums in the renowned H.O.M.E. Studios and has tracked music for movies and TV in Hamburg’s Zwischengeschoss Studios.

A performer since the age of 14, Catharina joins BIMM Hamburg as a Vocals tutor. She released her first record in 2000 with her band, Uh Baby Uh and now performs as a solo artist, under the moniker Puder. Catharina also runs her own record label, Pussy Empire Recordings, which works to create a home for exceptional female-led music.

But that’s not the end of our list of industry greats. There’s also our new Drum tutor Uwe Breunig – drummer and musical director for Kontra K. And, of course, let’s not forget our two new Music Business tutors – Jörg Tresp, the owner and manager of DevilDuck Records, and Arne Ghosh, co-manager of 380Grad.

We can’t wait for our new BIMM Hamburg students to meet them all in October, and we’re really looking forward to them connecting you all to a life in music.
