Festival season is in full swing. And this week, BIMM continues its festival outreach programme, providing work experience and performance opportunities for its students at Cornwall’s premier music and surf festival: Boardmasters.
39 BIMM artists hailing from our Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham and London campuses will be heading to Newquay’s Watergate Bay to appear on a line-up featuring the likes of Foals, Jorja Smith, Slaves, Rudimental, Mabel, Florence & The Machine, plus many more.
Student artists and graduate bands will be performing on our very own stage known as The Cove, which will be situated on the Peninsular area; a place where festival goers can get away from the madding crowds whilst still being close to the main stage and Hoopla.
BIMM artists performing on The Cove stage include:
Other BIMM artists set to perform include the likes of Hunger Moon (pictured), Gnarla, Currls, Alfie Neale, Peace In Protest, The NU, LibraLibra, Projector, El Moono, La Lune, Marna and many more!
But that’s not all. As with all our festival involvement, a team of non-performance students will also be present, working behind the scenes at The Cove as Site Office and Marketing Runners, Stage Manager Assistants, Backline Technicians, Radio Managers and more; all helping to ensure The Cove stage is run to a professional standard throughout the weekend’s festivities.
Aside from appearances from some of music’s biggest headline names, Boardmasters also brings together some of the world’s surfing elite on nearby Fistral Beach, with competitors from around the world vying for a place in the World Surfing League’s championship tour.
All surf and other related extreme sports events are free to attend for all Boardmasters ticket-holders, making it one of the most unique festival experiences in the UK!
