BIMM Dublin Launches The Sinead O’Connor Scholarship


BIMM Institute Dublin is extremely proud to announce the launch of The Sinéad O’Connor Scholarship for the academic year 2020/2021. The Scholarship will offer one lucky student a coveted place on the college’s four-year BA (Hons) Commercial Modern Music undergraduate course.

Sinéad has enjoyed an impressive creative career for over thirty years, amassing a world-wide following and releasing a multitude of full-length albums – working, performing and collaborating with some of the music industry’s biggest names in the process.

Prospective students can apply for the scholarship at BIMM Institute Dublin by completing an application which includes a personal statement and a video link to a performance.

Sinéad offered an official comment on the announcement, expressing excitement for the wonderful opportunity it will offer one lucky recipient.

“Am absolutely delighted to be involved with this scholarship and look forward to choosing the recipient. I thank BIMM very much for the Honour.”

Speaking on Sinead’s generous contribution, Alan Cullivan, College Principal at BIMM Dublin said:

“On behalf of myself and all at BIMM Institute Dublin, we are beyond thrilled to announce The Sinéad O’Connor Scholarship, which will be offered to one of our talented music students for the full four years of their degree starting in the 2020/2021 academic year. We are so proud that the truly inspiring Sinéad has agreed to join forces with BIMM Dublin to create this fantastic opportunity. The recipient will become immersed in our creative community, honing their artistry on the four-year BA (Hons) Commercial Modern Music course starting this September.”

For the scholarship application, all applicants must also be recommended at audition stage and meet minimum entry requirements for the course.

Applications for the BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music are made directly to the CAO at using the course code TU 961.
