Math-rock, post-rock, noise-rock, alt-rock and everything in between is the order of a very loud weekend at the supercool ArcTanGent Festival. The noise-loving celebration takes place from 20–22 August at Fernhill Farm, Compton Martin, just ten miles south of Bristol city centre.
BIMM is once again proudly sponsoring the cutting edge musical weekender and will be supplying a group of skilled students to take on various backstage roles in the running and administration of this year’s festival.
The students, mainly from the nearby BIMM Bristol campus, will be responsible for a range of significant festival roles, from artist liaison and stage management to technical crew, box office staff and stewarding.
The ArcTanGent Festival has made great strides in a very short time, winning awards and making a name for itself as the fun-loving connoisseur’s choice for all things alt and cutting edge in the world of rock. BIMM has been involved in the running of the festival since its inception in 2013 when thirty BIMM Bristol students took on roles in Artist Liaison and Stage Management.
The 5000 capacity festival will this year host over 70 bands across their four stages. Previous acts have included Russian Circles, This Will Destroy You, Fuck Buttons, MONO, And So I Watch You From Afar and 65daysofstatic. This year will see sets by Cult of Luna, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Deafheaven, Deerhoof, The Fall OF Troy, Joan Of Arc and the return of the mighty 65daysofstatic.
BIMM prides itself on being able to place students at the heart of the musical action to put their skills to the test in real working performance atmospheres. The ongoing relationship with ambitious and original festivals like ArcTanGent is the perfect place to do just that, so don’t forget to thank our BIMM helping hands for their part in your loud weekend thrills at this year’s ArcTanGent!
