Dave Rowntree, the drummer from legendary Britpop band Blur, has remixed a new song by English folk band The Cadbury Sisters for their upcoming EP ‘Close’.
Sisters Mary and Jessica Cadbury are both alumni of BIMM Bristol, and formed the band alongside their other sister Lucy. The haunting song ‘Milk’ showcases the band’s perfect sisterly harmonies, blending the sounds of traditional English folk with contemporary influences, and has been compared with the likes of Laura Marling and Fleet Foxes. The song will be released via Fear of Fiction on 16th June this year and is the first remix Dave Rowntree has done for a band other than Blur.
But the Blur drummer isn’t their own celebrity fan, with BBC Introducing’s Tom Robinson praising the “beautiful harmonies and gorgeous vocals” of the siblings, and singer-songwriter Frank Turner recently calling the trio his “new favourite band”.
Rowntree has made three captivating remixes and you can listen to them via The Cadbury Sisters’ Soundcloud account.
