Eirini Tornesaki is well on her way to breaking America after performing the US National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds baseball game earlier this month.
The BIMM Brighton Vocals graduate took centre stage at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, home of the Cubs baseball team, on September 1 and blew audiences away with her beautiful rendition of the song.
A rapturous applause filled the stadium immediately after the performance with thousands of fans clearly impressed by singer’s incredible talents.
The Crete-born artist took to Twitter after the show to share the news of her amazing performance, she wrote: “What an incredible experience to sing the US National for the Chicago Cubs!!”
Lucky for Eirini, she’s not prone to stage fright after gaining plenty of experience performing on the big stage. Her most recent role sees her as the lead vocalist in ‘Kurios’, an enchanting production from Cirque du Soleil which has been receiving rave reviews everywhere!
The highly popular show has toured extensively all over the US and Canada with Eirini and her fellow cast members playing over 250 shows since joining the production last year.
She plays ‘Chanteuse de la Rue’ in the production, a character inspired by the great French singer Edith Piaf. It’s a role clearly made for an artist like Eirini and sees her donning some excellent steam punk styled outfits including a gramophone headpiece.
Eirini has shown that the possibilities for BIMM students are endless. Not only is the vocalist touring with one of the world’s most renowned cabaret shows, she’s also had experience singing with some huge artists over the years including The Saw Doctors and Barry Manilow.
Who knows what amazing opportunities the future holds for Eirni, until then we wish her the best of luck and eagerly await more exciting news!
