BIMM Berlin student and singer-songwriter, Lisa Uebel continues to blow us away with her passion, skill and originality. From free jazz to scat singing, Lisa has emerged as one of our most promising emerging talents.
But don’t take our word for it, the gifted songstress – who performs under the name Mairimasil – was recently singled out by revered local tastemakers, Berlin Sessions.
Produced and funded by Bear Film, the project promotes up and coming musical talent from Berlin and has featured Lisa as one of their artists to watch in their latest live session video.
Filmed at the converted Malzfarbik factory space in a beautiful industrial setting, Lisa’s dramatic performance of her own song ‘Wolfmother’ is simply breathtaking.
Her haunting vocals and arresting guitar playing are a real treat for the senses; it’s little wonder that both Mairimasil and her band are gaining more industry exposure.
“The first time we found out about her, we instantly fell in love with Mairimasil. Her voice is strong and raw, but still gentle enough to hand you all kinds of emotions on a silver plate,” writes Berlin Sessions, and we couldn’t agree with them more.
Lisa has stood out for both tutors and students at BIMM Berlin and continues to excel in every genre, project and assignment given to her.
In terms of what to expect next, Lisa and her band are putting the finishing touches to a number of new projects. The future looks very exciting, to say the least so watch this space.
