Meet BIMM's Drum Degree Big Hitters

If you’re considering studying a Drum Degree at BIMM London, then you’ll probably want to hear all about our amazing Drum graduates who’ve been hitting the big time with some well-deserved industry success recently.

Take Thom Mills, for example. Thom is a session drummer, drum tutor and drum technician and his band, Skinny Lister, have recently announced they’ll be supporting Frank Turner on his 30-date US tour this September and October. A simple glance at Thom’s CV and you’ll see the names of some of music’s best artists, music programmes and festivals: Foals, Friendly Fires, Philip Selway, Ed Prosek, Later… With Jules Holland, BBC Radio 1, SXSW and Glastonbury.

But Thom’s not the only one.

BIMM graduate Adam is the drummer with pop heavyweights Lawson, who’ve had six Top 20 UK singles, have toured with The Wanted, Will Young and Westlife, and have played an array of top UK shows, including the iTunes Festival, V Festival and T In The Park.

Drummer and BIMM graduate Elliot has worked both on the road and in the studio with critically acclaimed band The Maccabees, as well as performing with Ladyhawke and Paolo Nutini, playing Glastonbury, RockNess and Australia’s Big Day Out, and drumming on Kate Nash’s Paul Epworth-produced No. 1 charting album ‘Made Of Bricks’.

The time Julien spent studying Drums at BIMM London set him on the way to collaborating with some amazing names in modern music, including Lady Gaga, Massive Attack, Kylie Minogue, Lemar, Westlife, Alfie Boe, Alexis Jordan, The Bullitts and more.

Current BIMM Drums student Luke performs with up-and-coming funk singer-songwriter, Clarence Clarity, and the band have recently supported Mercury Prize nominated London soul collective Jungle on their UK tour, as well as taking part in a BBC Radio 1 live session at Maida Vale Studios with Huw Stephens.

Drummer Jordan left BIMM and leapt straight into the fast lane of the music business as a member of psychedelic glam-rock band Telegram. They’ve supported the likes of Franz Ferdinand, The Horrors and the Manic Street Preachers, have received airplay on BBC 6 Music, and were chosen to headline their own NME Awards Show in London.

And last but certainly not least is our ex-student Ben who is the live drummer for chart-topping Northern Irish band, Two Door Cinema Club. Ben is endorsed by both Vic Firth and Zildjian, and continues to tour the globe with the highly successful band.
