Music Industry Engagement at BIMM

25 June, 2018

At BIMM, we don’t just aim to get your music performance chops and music business knowledge up to a professional standard. We go the extra mile to find you valuable work experience and industry placements at some of the music industry’s most reputable record labels, companies and businesses.

If you’re aiming to study at BIMM as a performer, then chances are you have your sights set firmly on a career on stage and in the studio – And of course, we’ll do our utmost to ensure you have all the tools you need to make this happen.

Imagine though, how beneficial it could be to witness the inner workings of a record label, music publisher, press office or even a music festival first hand. A Work-Based Learning placement of this type could be just what you need to expand your skillset and gain insider knowledge of what these sectors require from artists – you may even find yourself presented with a face-to-face introduction to a key industry figure with the power and influence to take your performance career to the next level. After all, performers today have to take care of business too.

Likewise, our internships programme often presents our Music Business, Event Management or Music Journalism undergraduates with that all-important ‘foot in the door’ opportunity at their dream workplace – with many placements resulting in permanent positions for the right candidates. Check out what Leo Nicholas – Head Of Careers & Industry at BIMM London – has to say on the scheme.

With such an extensive list of connections to some of the most exciting music industry companies around, it’s no-wonder our internship program has spawned so many success stories. Here’s just a handful of examples from some of our most recent graduates.
