BIMM Bristol graduate band RAPTOR release their debut album ‘Escapism’ this May via Brighton-based independent record label ‘Don’t Tell Anyone’.
Consisting of vocalist/guitarist Kurt Fletcher, drummer Adam Fletcher and bassist Nick Osborne, the psychedelic rock trio have been building a reputation as a live act to be reckoned with since their inception, with previous live performances seeing them opening for legendary acts Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Mick Ralphs (Bad Company), The Groundhogs, Dr Feelgood and Deborah Bonham.
The band’s debut LP will be printed onto limited edition vinyl as well as being available digitally online, and its arrival will be marked with a special live performance at Rough Trade Bristol, which will see them joined by special guests and label mates ‘Stone Cold Fiction’.
“It’s been a long awaited dream to release our own music on vinyl ever since we were young.”, said Kurt, who graduated on the BA (Hons) Degree in professional Musicianship – Guitar in 2017. “We’ve been writing this record over the past couple of years and gigging a lot. We recorded ‘Escapism’ at a studio called Bink Bonk, in Bristol. Mat Sampson mixed and engineered the record, Adam produced it and I co-produced it.”
Raptor launched Escapism at Rough Trade Bristol on the same day of the album’s release (May 17th), where they performed the whole record live alongside special guests: Stone Cold Fiction, BullyBones and DJ Fiddlestix.
As for the rest of the year, Raptor are already working on new material and we have some shows across the summer and autumn coming up that they’ll be announcing soon!
