Marbella continues to attract sun seekers, partygoers and its fair share of celebrities with the promise of star-studded yacht parties, exclusive bars, sun-kissed beaches and year-round sunshine. But the life that many of us dream of has recently become a reality for BIMM Brighton alumnus and in-demand drummer, Sam Slattery.

Sam has just signed an incredible two-year deal with world-famous nightclub and events company, Sintillate, as their resident drummer and percussionist. The partnership will see Sam – who graduated from BIMM with a degree in professional musicianship (drums) – play at some of Marbella’s most renowned beaches and venues throughout the summer.

With weekly slots at Nikki Beach, Pangea, Mahiki beach, Tibu, Ocean Club & Noa beach club, it’s fair to say Sam has hit the jackpot! But this incredible opportunity hasn’t come without hard work. After graduating from BIMM, the talented drummer spent three years grafting on the London club scene before catching the attention of Sintillate head honcho Dean Catney.

Sintillate have been hosting iconic VIP parties in destinations like Ibiza and Paris for over ten years now. You can only imagine how pleased we were to hear that Sam had signed a 2017 & 2018 contract with one of the most well-known and respected club promoters around.

Reflecting on the news, BIMM Brighton’s Head of Drums, Pat Garvey, said: “Sam always showed potential and was always driven to find a way through to make a living from what he wanted to do – playing the drums.”

While we’re a little bit envious, were infinitely proud of his latest success. As Pat said, it truly is well deserved. Speaking to BIMM, Sam revealed that he has quickly settled into life in Marbella:

“I’m enjoying playing in some of the best venues in the world every week as well as being in the sun couldn’t ask for much more. I would just like to say thanks as well for everything you do at BIMM to help us do what we love to do! I really enjoyed my time at BIMM. As well as the great course and all the tutors being spot on, BIMM was every flexible with me going on tour, which gave me the time to properly submerge myself in the industry which is why I’m here today.”

Sam is proof that studying at BIMM, working hard and taking advantage of every opportunity can pay dividends. We can’t wait to hear more stories from his time in Marbella and would like to take this opportunity to wish him the very best of luck with his residency.

Heading to the Costa del Sol this summer? You can catch Sam at Sintillate parties at Marbella’s most stylish bars and beaches. Check out the Sintillate Facebook page for more details.
