Sam Kelly

Artist

BIMM Brighton student Sam came to public prominence on Britain’s Got Talent, where he wowed the show’s judging panel and progressed all the way to the 2012 series final.

After showcasing his star potential to a TV audience of over 12 million, Kelly signed a management deal and released a debut EP, ‘Your Way Home’, in March 2013. He’s since enjoyed substantial support from the folk world, with audiences across the country applauding his performances and Radio 2 Folk Show host Mike Harding calling Sam “absolutely brilliant…One of the most interesting voices on the folk scene”.

Sam was heavily influenced by his Irish Grandad who taught him Gaelic folk songs as a child. He’s continued with folk music and in 2014 started working on songs written in the Cornish language, co-founding a folk project called The Changing Room with songwriter Tanya Brittain.

In 2015 Sam released a second EP, Spokes. He is now touring as part of The Sam Kelly Trio, and the band are working on a début album titled The Lost Boys.
