Further Education 2020/21 Course Delivery

Our priority is the safety of the BIMM student community, and we will continually review the changing environment and guidance throughout the coming year.

We understand the desire for students to use the college’s facilities, and we are committed to giving our students as much access to our buildings as is possible, whilst working within public health guidelines.

Diploma course delivery at BIMM Brighton, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham

We fully intend to offer full and complete access to the college as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we will be offering a mixture of online and physically taught modules on each course.

You will also have access to our college facilities outside of lesson time for your project work or rehearsals.

What will your Diploma Course look like in September?

  • We have delayed the start of term by one week, the new start date is Monday 21st September
  • Our Diploma courses are typically made up of 16 and a half hours a week, assuming Government Health Guidance allows, 3 and a half of these hours will be delivered at the College. The rest will be delivered online.
  • We believe this will provide the best of both worlds – with some modules working particularly effectively online, while you still benefit from the community, space and resources in the college.
  • Social distancing will mean some class sizes will be reduced however, this will give us more time to spend with you individually.
  • We intend on offering full and complete access to the College as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • We are aware that not all students will be able to travel to a new city in September, due to travel restrictions or health concerns. So, for that reason, we will offer all modules to those students online.

What will your Diploma course at BIMM London look like in September?

  • The course will commence from Monday 28 September 2020.
  • There are 16 hours of teaching per week. For term one, you will study 3.5 hours on campus with the remaining 12.5 hours online.
  • From 25 January (during term two) we intend to run all lessons in the college. Should the social restrictions ease in January but not allow for all lessons to be in the college, we will run as many as we can on-site.
  • If restrictions tighten further, then we have the ultimate flexibility to move all lessons online.
  • Social distancing will mean some class sizes will be reduced however, this will give us more time to spend with you individually.
  • Students will also have access to our college facilities outside of lesson time for project work or rehearsals, and we’ll continue to offer facilities at Pirate Studios for further rehearsal, studio and DJ room access.
