Gerry has been working at BIMM Institute as an educator since 2014. His experience covers further and higher UK education, across subjects ranging from SEN-tailored English and maths, to further-level Computer Game Design and coding, to under and post-graduate teacher training. Gerry now leads the PGCert and Masters courses in Learning and Teaching in the Creative Industries, which support the personal and professional development of new educators internationally. His current areas of specialism include curriculum design, course leadership, and transformative coaching.
Alongside his teaching roles, Gerry is pursuing research interests in the areas of democratic and critical pedagogy, curriculum studies, and contemplative practice in higher education. His MA research dissertation at UCL Institute of Education explores the impact of Coronavirus on decision-making in Higher Education, particularly how curriculum, pedagogy and assessment have been re-negotiated in the pivot to online higher education.
