Marco started working in the music industry in Italy in the late 80s as a freelance sound engineer with PA and theatrical companies, and also as a lighting technician and technical event co-ordinator. He moved to the UK in the mid 90s and worked for 12 years at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios – first as an assistant engineer, then staff engineer and finally as senior engineer and technical manager. In 2008 he went freelance and set up the Green Room Studio within the Real World complex, where he currently works as a producer, mixer, engineer and mastering engineer.
Over the years, Marco has worked for prominent musicians including Aretha Franklin, The Beautiful South, Black Grape, The Cooper Temple Clause, Crowded House, Deep Purple, Elbow, Genesis, Gomez, James, New Order, Midge Ure, Robert Plant, Sigur Rós, Stereophonics, Van Morrison and many more. He also worked on the soundtrack for Xbox blockbuster ‘Halo 4’ with Massive Attack producer Neil Davidge. Marco is a technical consultant for a number of prominent producers and studios in the UK and Europe, and collaborated with BIMM to build the recording facilities at both BIMM Bristol and BIMM Manchester.
