David Deacon

Module Leader for Cultural Perspectives & Professional Project

David is primarily a cultural and literary critic, and is currently completing his PhD in English at University College Dublin. He’s committed to interpreting, understanding and communicating the evolution of modern music through established cultural theories.

David is an avid musician, and has worked with the promotions company, Bodytonic Music. He’s the author of a number of publications on American literature, and is currently writing about the intersection of the 1960s protest song, its legacy in the punk movement of the 1970s, and the continuation of the tradition in the 21st century. He teaches Cultural Perspectives and oversees the Professional Project module at BIMM Dublin.
