Catharina Boutari

Catharina is a singer, songwriter, session musician and live artist.

A performer since the age of 14, Catharine released her first record in 2000 with her band, Uh Baby Uh. She now performs as a solo artist and since 2012, under the moniker Puder.

She’s also worked extensively in theatre as a stage musician, music director and as the Opera Director for Hamburg’s Thalia Theatre. In 2014, she created ‘PuderZucker’, a theatre piece/pop-road movie that shuffles the boundaries between concert and performance. It premiered at St. Pauli Theatre and was later performed at Reeperbahn Festival. ‘PuderZucker’ was widely celebrated by critics and was described by Hamburger Morgenpost as a ‘colourful clash of energetic music’.

Catharina runs her own record label, Pussy Empire Recordings, which works to create a home for exceptional female-led music. She also works as a vocal coach and is a leading editor for the vocal department at, German’s biggest online music magazine.
