Nathan Sudders

Bass Lecturer

Nathan currently plays bass for Elbow frontman, Guy Garvey as well being in The Whip – both songwriting and playing bass.

Guy Garvey’s debut solo album, Courting the Squall, was released at the end of October 2015, receiving great reviews for its unexpected sound and eclectic range of influences.

In December 2016, Nathan toured with Guy and his crew for dates in the UK and Europe. Hear Nathan, Guy and the band performing an excellent live version of their first single ‘Angela’s Eyes’ on Jools Holland, right here.

Nathan’s other band, The Whip were initially signed to Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried label. Nathan has toured with them extensively, performing at some of the world’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Fuji Rocks, Reading and Leeds, and Pukkelpop.

The band’s songs have appeared extensively in TV shows, adverts, and video games – the track ‘Trash’ is the theme tune for the Channel 4 show ‘Rude Tube’. ‘Muzzle’ appears on the soundtrack for the video game ‘FIFA 09,’ ‘Dive-bomb’ has been used in ‘The Sims 2’, and ‘Blackout’ features in ‘NBA Live 2009.’
