In its 15th year, Hard Working Class Heroes has had an overhaul making some changes to the festival including cutting the number of acts playing by half. 50 bands from around Ireland will descend on various venues in Dublin’s City Centre to showcase their talents for music fans, fellow musicians and industry personnel.
The festival will take place from the 29th – 30th of September and will feature live music, along with an internationally attended music industry convention, free daytime gigs under the HWCH & the City banner and chances for acts to network with the aim of giving them the opportunity to take their careers to the next level.
Every year international agents, festival bookers, record labels, publishers, managers, event curators, journalists, editors, radio DJs and taste-makers come to HWCH to find new Irish acts. With the heightened competition this year, we are delighted to see 13 outstanding BIMM Dublin acts have made the cut! Made up of current student and graduates, these include:
- AE Mak
- The Fontaines
- LE BOOM
- Maria Kelly
- Orchid Collective
- Chasing Abbey
All of these hard working acts are currently making waves on local and international music scenes, making them a must see at this year’s festival.
“There’s so many bands playing that I’m looking forward to seeing, it’s a great reflection of how strong and diverse the Irish music scene is. Also, seeing so many talented BIMM students in the line-up is amazing” – Stevie D’arcy of THUMPER.
Tickets are available from Eventbrite and range in price from €25-€55.
