What you will do
Throughout this three-year degree, students will develop expertise in music commerce, event management, marketing, and digital branding, learning through a mix of real-world projects, industry placements, and hands on experiences.
- Year One: Build your foundation with modules in industry structures, marketing, artist management, live music, and publishing.
- Year Two: Deepen your understanding of finance, digital trends, social platforms, and specialist areas such as label management and touring.
- Year Three: Focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and audience engagement while completing a Final Major Project and studying music law and ethics.
With strong connections to the industry, students have access to internships, placements, and live industry projects, ensuring they graduate with real-world experience and professional networks. Mode of attendance: Full-time
Length of course: This course is taught as a three-year course at levels four, five and six on the National Qualifications Framework for England and Northern Ireland. This is the equivalent of Level six, seven and eight on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland.

Admissions Criteria: Minimum of 2H5s & 406s in any Leaving Certificate subject. A minimum of five distinctions at QQI Level 5 can also be accepted. A minimum of five distinctions at QQI Level 5 can also be accepted.

Successful completion of a BIMM admissions interview.

IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 to be achieved in each band.
The primary entry requirement for mature applicants is interview only.
Progression
Graduates can progress directly to employment in the music industry in roles such as a DIY Artist/Manager, Record Label Executive, A&R Manager, Publisher, PR and Marketing Manager, or Digital Communications Manager.
Course fees
The BA (Hons) Music Business is a private degree and SUSI Funding and grants are not available for this course. A monthly payment plan is available upon enrolment.
