Session Musician
Diploma graduate Nathan (a.k.a. Tugg) is currently the drummer for UK dance/electronic house sensations Basement Jaxx.
As well as Basement Jaxx, Nathan has worked with chart-topping artists such as Lily Allen, MC Kano, Lady Sovereign, James Morrison, Tinchy Stryder, and Paloma Faith, to name but a few.
Nathan has been working as a professional musician for almost 20 years. As one of the countries most in-demand session drummers he has had the pleasure of touring and recording with some of the UK’s most successful acts, including Basement Jaxx, Lily Allen, Elton John, Roots Manuva, Kano, Tinchy Stryder, and many more.
In addition to Nathan’s work as a session drummer, he is also a DJ and producer, making hits released on labels including Grizzly, Atlantic Jaxx, Ninja Tune, and Brownswood, and his productions and remixes have been played by the likes of Annie Mac, Gilles Peterson, and Toddla T.
Nathan teaches drums and music production and at The Rhythm Studio, as well as working as a freelance lecturer giving masterclasses to a wide variety of students at colleges across the country. He’s created a collection of Live Disco and Electro drum chops on Loopmasters perfect for your House, Disco, Electro productions.
