BIMM at Glastonbury Festival: The 2024 round up

4 July, 2024

Glastonbury Festival is one of the world’s biggest music and performing arts festivals and on everyone’s mind when it gets to this time of year. With over 200,000 people in attendance, the five-day festival comprises music, dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret and numerous other art forms.

It was headlined this year by pop star Dua Lipa, British rock band Coldplay (in a record-breaking fifth headline appearance on the Pyramid Stage) and American R’n’B singer SZA.

As in previous years, we had multiple BIMM graduates, students and lecturers both performing and working across different areas of the festival. Here are some of the highlights from the weekend:

  • Ciara O’Connor was headlining the Pyramid Stage with global superstar Dua Lipa.
  • Fontaines D.C. blew us away with their headline set at The Park Stage.
  • Graduates Lime Garden rocked The Park Stage this year (following their Left Field performance last year).
  • Isabel Torres played guitar with Declan McKenna on Woodsies.
  • Naomi Forbes drummed for Paloma Faith on the Pyramid Stage.
  • Bristol legends IDLES headlined The Other Stage.
  • Olivia Nelson took the crowd by storm with her set on Lonely Hearts Club.
  • Bow Anderson smashed Left Field.
  • Two Door Cinema Club, with graduate Ben Thompson on drums, played an incredible set on The Other Stage on Sunday.
  • Debbie Hewson was drumming for James on The Other Stage.
  • ARXX wowed everyone at The Greenpeace Stage.
  • Naomi Johnson sang with Cut Capers.
  • A Little Sound bought the energy to Arcadia.

Many more of our students were involved across the weekend and, as always, we are so proud to see those associated with BIMM do such incredible things at such a huge festival!
