Rory Doyle on Tour with Chart-topper Hozier

17 October, 2014

We feel it’s really important that BIMM Dublin’s students are taught by active members of the music industry who are still out there, doing it for real.

So we’re hugely pleased to announce that one of BIMM Dublin’s drum lecturers, Rory Doyle, has joined Hozier’s live band!

It’s a hugely high-profile gig for Rory: Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” has become an inescapable smash-hit, with international radio play and over 14 Million plays on Youtube alone.

Alan Cullivan, our college manager, is pleased to see Rory off on the road!

“It’s vital to us here at BIMM Dublin that our lecturers are as current and active within the music industry as possible. It informs their teaching and results in our students benefiting from their relevant, real world experiences.”

And what great real-world experiences Rory will bring back to BIMM: Hozier’s upcoming UK and European tour is selling out fast, taking in high-prestige venues all over Europe.

Rory’s taking it all in his stride though – this isn’t the first time he’s played on big stages with top stars.

He has been playing drums and performing live regularly since his teens, has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages – playing on the same bill as U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bob Dylan – and has appeared on David Letterman’s US talkshow with Bell X1.

It’s such great news for Rory – we know he’ll be a rock-solid presence on stage, and we’re really pleased for him.

Now then, Rory – can you get us on the guestlist for the show in Dublin in December please… ?
