Danny O’Donoghue Masterclass

8 October, 2014

BIMM Dublin was delighted to welcome The Script frontman and songwriter Danny O’Donoghue to its Francis Street campus for an exclusive Masterclass.

The Script are an Irish rock band who formed in 2001 with three number one albums under their belt, collaborations with top artists like Will.i.am, tours with U2, Take That and Paul McCartney, and two Brit Award nominations for Best International Group. So far they’ve sold four million albums and an astounding ten million singles. Their song ‘Hall of Fame’ featuring Will.i.am became their first UK No. 1 single in September 2012.

In addition to working with The Script, Danny has been a coach on The Voice UK for seasons one and two, where he had success with runner-up Bo Bruce in 2012, and was responsible for 2013’s winner, Andrea Begley.

The Script have toured extensively around the world, including Europe, North America, Australasia, the Middle East and Asia. They were selected to play live in front of the Queen during her tour of the BBC’s new London headquarters in June 2013.

In the past, Danny has produced and co-written music for international stars such as Britney Spears, Boyz II Men, TLC and Justin Timberlake.

Danny shared his experience of the music industry, what it was like being a singer and frontman, and discussed his songwriting style, before taking part in a Q & A session. He seemed to enjoy it too, as after the Masterclass he stayed around to have his photo taken with the BIMM Dublin students, even taking the odd selfie or two!
