BIMM Bristol‘s Finn Donohue (AKA Drone) has been making waves on the electronic/grime scene lately, having just released a fantastic double A-side on South London-based label Hear Other Sounds. The Music Production student’s debut release for the imprint is made up of 2 tracks “Flux” and “Arctic” and was released on limited edition 12″ vinyl, enjoying widespread popularity with DJ’s and the music loving public alike.

Both tracks received premiers via some highly respectable taste-making blogs, namely Complex and Dummy Mag and he even secured the coveted “Tune of the Month” slot in Mixmag. Additionally, Finn’s also been reaching wider audiences through performances on radio stations such as Rinse FM, BBC Radio Bristol and Radar Radio.

Most recently, Finn appeared on BBC Asian Network with a “Hype Machine” mix for Yasser, the aim of which is to see how many tracks he can mix in 10 minutes.

Although he generally flies solo with his musical exploits, Drone has also been known to collaborate if the fit is right. He produced a track for grime artist AJ Tracey back in 2015 and continues to remix for various artists on numerous labels too.

We look forward to seeing what 2018 holds for this promising young producer and will be keeping a close eye on him as his career progresses.
