Our courses at BIMM Music Institute Dublin will equip you with the best tools and expertise required to develop a fulfilling and sustainable music industry career. You will be taught daily by a range of successful music industry professionals. And, you’ll have tutorials with our teaching team. You’ll also have a chance to meet some of our weekly special guests in our exclusive Masterclass; giving you the opportunity to build your connections and gain amazing insight into the music industry.

Alongside lessons, we run student clubs, such as Keyboard Club and Business Club. We offer unlimited career tutorials so that you can discuss your future music industry goals. We also offer pastoral meetings with our dedicated Student Services team to help you deal with any personal issues whilst you’re studying with us.

Want to join us to perfect your performance skills? You’ll be able to rehearse on campus with full back-line equipment during the day and evening. Evening rehearsals run from 6 pm – 10 pm Monday to Friday.

More interested in music production?  You’ll have access to our Mac suite with industry-standard Music and Audio Production software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic DAWs.

The tutors

There are some seriously talented and well-connected tutors at BIMM Music Institute Dublin, who span a plethora of genres and styles. These include:

Louise Macnamara (Songwriting Tutor) – Songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of the twin sister duo, Heathers. The group’s first album, Here, Not There, was released through Warner Music Ireland in 2010, and featured the No.1 hit “Remember When”. Heathers have gone on to sign deals with Universal Music Publishing, Warner Music Germany, Sony Music Canada and Sony RED USA, amongst others.

Shelley Bukspan (Head of Vocals) – American/Israeli songwriter and performer who has been involved in Ireland’s music scene since 1986. She’s performed at some of the biggest Jazz festivals in the world including CMJ New York and the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Tully Gunawardhana (Theory Tutor) – Started studying cello, piano and music theory from the age of six. He’s played alongside Chuck Berry, Kelly Rowland and has performed on Later… With Jools Holland.

Alison Reynolds (Music Theory and Keyboard Skills Tutor) – A versatile and talented multi-instrumentalist who has played alongside Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Nile Rodgers and Chic, and even Michael Bublé.

Alan Duggan (Music Business Tutor) – Alan is lead guitarist in Dublin noise rock group Girl Band, who has played all across Ireland, Europe, UK, Russia, North America and Japan. The band are signed to Rough Trade Records, published by Domino Publishing Co, and have released two albums. His first-hand industry knowledge comes from managing and tour managing the band. He has also worked with First Music Contact for their industry showcase festival: Ireland Music Week.

How to apply

It’s straightforward to apply for one of our BIMM Music Institute courses. Some creative courses require an audition as part of the application process, and the Master’s courses require an interview before acceptance. You can find out more about the application process for each course here.
