Ever wondered what it’s like to study at BIMM? Perhaps you want to find out about our famous Live Performance Workshop sessions, or you’re interested in hearing what sort of things you’ll get up to on a Music Journalism course. Whatever element of BIMM life it is that interests you, we’ve compiled this handy page, with tutor roles, in-class videos and key module descriptions, so you can better understand what to expect in the classroom.

Our tutors aren’t just educators. They are seasoned pro’s who have amassed a wealth of experience within the music industry of today. Collectively, they’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the business and many of them continue to actively work within their field of specialism alongside teaching at BIMM. This means our students receive up-to-the minute, expert tuition. And should the right opportunity present itself for a budding music professional like you, our tutors can offer the all-important industry connections to career-making opportunities.

Professional Project

Each of our degree courses also feature a Professional Project module, which takes place in your third and final year and counts for a large percentage of your overall grade for that year. The brilliant thing about the Pro’ Project is that it’s very open-ended, meaning you have the freedom to undertake an in-depth study of whatever subject you wish. Not only does this give you a fantastic opportunity to indulge yourself in a project you’re passionate about; it’s also the perfect opportunity to launch your very own business venture.

Performance students may wish to organise a live tour, release a record or write own their teaching syllabus. Production students could set up their own recording studios, Music Business and Event Management students could start their own record label or publishing companytour manage an artistcreate their own club night or perhaps even run their own live music festival.

Whatever your passion, the Professional Project module will allow you to turn your own idea into a real-life business prospect with the potential to realise your career goals and help launch your life in music. Here are just a handful of Pro’ Project videos and student business profiles from our most recent final year degree students.
