BIMM at Glastonbury Festival 2016

Festival News

Glastonbury Festival is just weeks away, and we cannot wait!

All eyes will be on Worthy Farm for this year’s rural bash, which will see huge performances from Muse, Adele, Coldplay, Beck, Foals, New Order and many more.

But that’s not the only thing that’s got our BIMM staff and students excited: From Wednesday 22 June, BIMM itself will also have a presence at Europe’s biggest arts festival, bringing with us another exciting line-up of talented BIMM artists and bands.

The action will take place around the enchanting Green Fields area, at the Croissant Neuf bandstand – the oldest performance area after the Pyramid Stage!

The solar-powered bandstand will see acoustic performances from some of our favourite musicians and performers, including Frankie Furlow, Charlotte Cannon, Sam Craighan, Circe’s Diner and Sam Brockington.

Our first artist will kick off on Wednesday at 1pm when electro-indie rockers Episodes take to the stage for an unplugged set. From then on, we’ll be treating the Glastonbury audience to a brilliant selection of live music.

BIMM’s residency follows last year’s highly successful showcase, which attracted a busy crowd throughout the weekend.

Speaking of last’s year’s performances, BIMM’s Artist Promotion and Festival Manager, Suzi Ireland, said:

“We had eleven performances over the weekend, and they all went really well. There was a big crowd for the performers, and the feedback we had was great. The Croissant Neuf team were also very pleased with how it all went. Students from across the BIMM Group got to network, make new friends and even plan gig swaps in each other’s centres.”

Not only will our students have the chance to debut their talents at one of the biggest festivals in the world, but we’ll also have a team of five BIMM students managing the stage – an invaluable experience that will stand out on any CV!

If you’ve a keen eye for new music and rising talent, you won’t want to miss our handpicked line-up.

There’s also plenty more to see and do around the brilliant ‘pop-up green village’, from markets to circus performers – a visit to the Croissant Neuf area is a no brainer!
