Congratulations to former BIMM London student Izzy Bizu who was a runner up for the prestigious 2016 Brits Critics’ Choice Award.
South London soul singer/songwriter Izzy was up against the eventual winner Jack Garratt and pianist-singer, Frances. The three were chosen from a list of over 100 finalists from a range of genres.
Izzy now joins previous prestigious Brits Critics’ Choice runners up including, The Vaccines, Laura Mvula, James Blake and Michael Kiwanuka – all of whom went onto achieve huge success. So, Izzy is hoping to follow in their footsteps when her debut album, A Moment of Madness is released next year via Epic Records.
Izzy is already experiencing what t’s like to be a successful artist, she’s supported top names such as Sam Smith, Rudimental and Foxes; performed at Glastonbury twice; and made her debut TV performance on Later with Jools Holland earlier this year. 2016 looks set to be a fantastic year for Izzy.
“We are thrilled for Izzy. Being nominated for the Brits Critics’ Choice is a huge achievement and we are looking forward to hearing her debut album.” Vaseema Hamilton, Executive Principal BIMM London|Brighton|Bristol|Berlin
