We always love the start of the new academic year here at BIMM, and this time round we’ve got more reasons than usual to be cheerful, because it sees the launch of a whole host of new courses across our campuses.
October sees the introduction of a brand new course stream for BIMM – the BA (Hons) in Music Journalism – which will run at both BIMM Brighton and BIMM Manchester. Validated by the University of Sussex, students will develop a solid base of wider journalistic and public relation skills, but will uniquely be allowed to specialise in their chosen niche of ‘music’ from the very start.
BIMM Dublin unveils a new privately funded fee-paying course this year too, which has already proved incredibly popular at our other BIMM campuses: the BA (Hons) Music Production for aspiring DJs and Producers. It’s a three-year degree course validated by the University of West London, and to add to the excitement, students on this course are given the chance to complete the second year of their tuition at either our BIMM London or BIMM Berlin sister colleges – how’s that for music industry connectivity?!
And while we’re at it… let’s not forget our brand new college BIMM Berlin which, by default, has all new courses running for the very first time this year. Choose from the BA (Hons) Creative Musicianship in Guitar, Bass, Drums or Vocals which is all about nurturing creative performance and songwriting talents; the BA (Hons) Songwriting which will teach the integral components of songwriting with a view to ‘writing for commission’; and the BA (Hons) Music Business for those wanting a career as a music business exec. All degrees are validated by the prestigious University of West London, and also offer students the opportunity to study the second year of their course at BIMM London, right at the heart of the global music industry, before returning to BIMM Berlin for their final year.
At BIMM, we’re constantly on the lookout for new opportunities for our students, and the 2016/17 academic year is already looking to be an interesting one – with Music Journalism planned for BIMM London; and Music Production in the pipeline for BIMM Berlin.
If you’d like to join us at one of our BIMM colleges this October, don’t delay.
