Marianne Hillier-Brook

Session Musician

Marianne has played drums alongside the likes of Chris Spedding, Steve Simpson, Miller Anderson and legendary bassists Herbie Flowers.

Marianne joined us as a mature student on the Drums Diploma course and graduated in 2005. Since then, she has been employed as a freelance professional drummer and over the years has worked with some exceptional musicians, including Chris Spedding (Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry), guitarist Micky Moody (Whitesnake), Steve Simpson (Slim Chance), guitarist Richard Durrant, Miller Anderson (T. Rex), multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Glasson and violinist Mike Piggot.

She’s currently part of a four-piece band with legendary bassist Herbie Flowers. With Herbie’s ‘novelty Chamber Quartet’ Music Box, she performed the musical re-telling of ‘Jason and the Argonauts’, written by band member Ian White, in a sell-out show at the Brighton Spiegeltent.

Marianne has also been performing with All Things Must Pass, a show that uses a ten-piece band to tribute the works of George Harrison. The performance is touring across Hampshire, Sussex and Oxfordshire, with all proceeds going to George’s charity – the Material World Charitable Foundation.

Marianne has been consistently employed since graduation in a career that shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon!
