Amelia Hope - Perplex City

Track of the week

From the BIMM London Album, our second track of the week is Perplex City by Amelia Hope.

Amelia Hope is a Maltese singer song-writer who began her musical journey in her late teens. She discovered her passion for singing and her talented voice during karaoke nights with her friends.

Her first project was a song she wrote and sung under the name “Amelia” and was produced by Elton Zarb & Maddee Dargue, called “A Blind Girl’s Whisper”. Following this, she was offered the opportunity to work as featuring artist on a track made for German DJs, ‘Final Aeon’. The track, called “Another Place”, was signed by German record label, I.M. Red Trance Digital. Amelia Hope had many other opportunities including one with ‘Aliens in the Basement’, where she featured in the chorus of their song called “Coda”. Amelia is now training her voice with various coaches including Maddee Dargue and Ivan Degabriele of The Voice Academy. Her voice is very much soul and jazz orientated and she has chosen to follow the genre that suits her best.

The track was written by Amelia Hope. She also sang the vocals and the backing vocals. In her song she has Matthew Hemsall on the drums, Herty Hill on bass, Martino Testi-Westlake on the keys, Richy Jones on the guitar, the string smart quartet was made up of Anna Kempton, Agata Kubiak, Marietta Szaloki and Szabados-Drotots Dorottya, the horn section was made up of Tim Smart (trombone), Pablo Mendelssohn (trumpet), Dave Oxley (horn 1) and Martyn Bayliss (horn2).

The song was produced by Herty Hill, Ciaran Robinson and Patryk Narbut.
