This one-year practical and vocational course is ideal if you want to further your musical abilities on a part-time basis of 4.5 hours a week.
At BIMM Dublin, we understand that live performance is the key to you becoming a great bassist, so you’ll spend a lot of time working on your bass techniques and styles to help you develop and find your niche as a performer. You’ll receive expert guidance from your highly skilled BIMM tutors, all of whom have had vast experience in the music industry, and continue to be a part of the business today.
You’ll also study music theory and the fundamental skills required to read and perform music notation on the bass, such as sight reading. During your time on the course you’ll connect with likeminded fellow musicians for exciting collaboration projects, and will get to plug into unique networking opportunities, such as Masterclasses with global music industry professionals. You’ll also have the opportunity to audition for the BIMM Album and the BIMM end-of-term gigs. All in all, it’s a fantastic part-time introduction to modern music and the industry that surrounds it.
The course is fully validated by BIMM Institute, and successful completion will gain you 60 CATS credits. Graduates achieve 60 Level 4 CATS credits at UK Level 4 which is the equivalent to 30 ECTS at Level 6 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. It’s a great gateway to either taking your first steps in a music industry career, or continuing on with study in the form of the BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music at BIMM.
So, what are you waiting for? To make your way as a bassist, connect with us, and we’ll connect you to a life in music.
