Ellen O’Reilly

Principal Lecturer of Bass

Ellen O’Reilly is a highly sought-after touring bassist and vocalist with over 20 years’ experience in the live music industry. She has performed and recorded with artists including Damien Dempsey, Kate Nash, Irish Women in Harmony, Mark Geary and Sarah Harding (Girls Aloud) among many others.

Ellen has performed on television across the UK and Ireland and was principal bassist for the West End and Broadway hit musical Operation Mincemeat, and is featured on the Sony Global Cast Recording. Her theatre credits also include Six - The Musical and Rebecca O’Connor - Simply The Best.

A respected voice in the bass community, Ellen has written for Bass Guitar Magazine and Bass Player Magazine, performed at the London Bass Guitar Show and delivered bass masterclasses. She was also an interviewer for the internationally popular YouTube channel Talking Bass, interviewing renowned bassists including Tony Levin, Guy Pratt, Gail Ann Dorsey and Suzi Quatro.

Ellen is a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, where she received a full ErnieBall MusicMan scholarship and won Best Bassist in her first year. She is also lead singer and bassist of funk-rock band Disko Volante and is endorsed by leading music brands such as; Sandberg Basses, Eich Amplification and Boss pedals.
