Pia is an acclaimed Irish singer, songwriter, composer, and bandleader with over twenty years of elite professional performance. A cornerstone of the Irish jazz and contemporary scenes, Dunne has shared stages with legendary acts including Sinéad O’Connor, Aslan, and MC Soom T, while captivating festival audiences across Ireland, the UK, and Scandinavia.
An Honours graduate of the prestigious Nordic Master in Global Music through RAMA Denmark and the Sibelius Academy Finland, her global artistry spans deep roots in jazz improvisation and international studies across Denmark, Finland, and Haiti. This rich background shapes her dynamic leadership across genre-bending projects including the Pia Dunne Quartet, the Eleusians, and the rock-infused Strawgods.
Her critically acclaimed debut EP garnered “Best Female Artist” and “Best Soul/Jazz Act” nominations, prompting Jerry Fish to praise her “timeless voice” and Hotpress to laud her “sassy” performance style. Her artistry also expands into cinematic scoring and international cinema: “Place of No Returning” was featured in the acclaimed short film Lucky, which screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival before touring theatres across the United States.
